Scoring a match (captains)

Each match is scored on the captains' phones, at the table, as it's played. Both captains are logged in at the same time and each sees the other's entries appear within a few seconds. There's no need to refresh the page.

This season: phone scoring works for a match when both teams are set up on the site with captains who have accounts. Keep filling out the Hazelwood scoresheet as usual either way. A match scored here and signed off by both captains is recorded automatically, so there's no need to send that scoresheet to Jeff or Bart -- otherwise, send them a copy of the photo. See This season on the Home page.

Every match is 4 rounds of 4 games, 16 games in all. The Home captain enters each game's result; the Away captain checks and acknowledges each one. When all 16 are done, both captains sign off and the match is final.

Setting your lineup

  1. Open the match (My Matches → Set Lineup, or it opens on its own on match night).
  2. Put your 4 players in order, positions 1 to 4 from top to bottom, by dragging each one by its handle. The order decides who plays whom in each round; the app works out the pairings for you.
  3. Tap Save Lineup.

Underneath, a Lineup Comparison shows both teams' lineups side by side as they're set. You can change your lineup any time until the match is final.

Using a sub

  1. On your lineup, tap Sub next to the player who isn't playing.
  2. Pick a sub from the list, or, if they're not listed, type their first and last name under Add a New Sub and tap Add and Select. A name the league already has on file reuses that person rather than creating a duplicate.
  3. Back on the lineup, the sub shows as "(Sub for …)". Drag them into position if needed, then Save Lineup.

Changed your mind? Tap Add Back to put your regular player back in. A sub can only play for one team per week.

Entering scores (Home captain)

  1. On the score page, tap the first game (or Score Next Game). Both lineups must be set first.
  2. Pick each player's points: the winner gets 10; the loser gets the points they actually made, 0 to 7.
  3. If the winner ran out in one turn that started with all 15 balls on the table, check ERO (see scoring terms).
  4. Tap Save & Next. You go straight to the next game.

Made a mistake? Tap the game and save it again with the right score. That clears the Away captain's acknowledgment for that game, so they'll check it again.

Checking scores (Away captain)

  1. On the score page, once the Home captain has entered a game, tap it (or Acknowledge Next Game).
  2. If it's right, tap Acknowledge & Next.
  3. If something's wrong, don't acknowledge it. Talk it over at the table and have the Home captain correct it.

The page keeps count: "x/16 games entered, y/16 acknowledged."

Signing off

When all 16 games are entered and acknowledged, each captain taps Sign Off. Signing off means you've reviewed all 16 games and agree with them. Once both captains have signed off, the match becomes final on its own: standings and player stats update, and the scores can no longer be changed here. If a mistake turns up after that, contact Bart Wallace, the site administrator, to have it corrected.

Forfeits

If the other team doesn't show up:

  1. Make sure your own full lineup (all 4 players) is set and saved.
  2. Tap Report Forfeit (on the lineup page or in My Matches).
  3. Check the details and tap Confirm Forfeit.

Your team gets the full win, 160 to 0 (40 points per player), and no games need to be entered. A forfeit can't be undone from your phone, so if one was reported by mistake, contact Bart Wallace, the site administrator.

Scoring terms: Ten-Zero and ERO

Ten-Zero
The winner scored 10 and the loser didn't make a ball (0). The app records this automatically from the score; there's nothing to check.
ERO (Earned Run Out)
Any run out that begins with all 15 balls on the table: the winner clears their balls and the 8 in one turn. It doesn't have to come on the break -- both players may already have taken a shot and missed, but as long as all 15 balls are still on the table when the winner starts the run, it's an ERO. The loser's score is always 0. Check the ERO box when entering the game. An ERO is counted as an ERO, not also as a Ten-Zero.

Scoring problems

"Both teams' lineups must be set for this position first"
One of the teams hasn't filled that lineup position yet. Both captains need to set and save their lineups.
"Only one player can score 10" or "One player must score 10"
Exactly one player, the winner, gets 10. Enter the loser's actual points, 0 to 7.
"ERO only applies when the loser's points are 0"
An ERO starts with all 15 balls on the table, so the loser never made a ball. Set the loser to 0, or uncheck ERO.
"Only the Home team captain enters game results"
The Away captain reviews and acknowledges instead. See Checking scores.
"All 16 games must be entered (or acknowledged) before you can sign off"
The Sign Off button only appears once every game has been entered by the Home captain and acknowledged by the Away captain. Check the "x/16" counts on the score page.
"Your team's full 4-player lineup must be set before reporting a forfeit"
Set and save all 4 positions on your lineup, then report the forfeit.
"That sub is already playing for (another team) this week"
A sub can only play for one team per week. Pick a different sub.
I don't see My Roster or My Matches
They only appear for a team's captain, and only once the season has started. If you're the captain and the season is under way, contact Bart Wallace, the site administrator.
